As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for a wide range of functions that require a hands-on approach and the ability to communicate the quantitative and qualitative financial results of the firm to the management team. The ideal candidate takes initiative and enjoys a creative and dynamic company culture. This position offers remote work opportunity with required access to Richmond and the Kilmarnock, VA area and will report directly to the CEO.

 Responsibilities:

  • Work with accounts payable and accounts receivable manager to oversee the cash management duties for the firm
  • Work closely with the client services team and utilize the company’s software programs to facilitate timely invoices
  • Review payroll details from JustWorks system and provide reporting and planning
  • Manage communications for the company’s 401K to employees and with the CPA firm
  • Review expenses as a percentage of revenue and recommend changes as appropriate for planning
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reports
  • Preparation and evaluation of updated financial forecasts including sales, net earnings, and cash flow projections
  • Develop and monitor consolidated financial targets, budgets, and metrics
  • Ensure the accounting policies, procedures and internal controls are performed effectively and recommend and implement ongoing improvements
  • Provide ongoing financial analysis support to the management team
  • Ownership of external relationships for banking, tax-related documents for the CPA firm and insurance
  • Special projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel
  • Proficiency in SaaS Optics and SalesForce highly desired, but not required
  • Experience with SaaS business and services business highly desired
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data and relevant impact on the company’s profitability and future growth
  • Passion for getting things done in a timely manner with high attention to detail
  • Self-starter and has the aptitude for driving continuous improvement
  • Excellent multi-tasking and decision-making skills in an ever-changing environment

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on accounting and reporting experience
  • 2 years of accounting/finance supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business
  • CPA is highly desired, but not required
