Accounting Manager

As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for a wide range of functions that require a hands-on approach and the ability to communicate the quantitative and qualitative financial results of the firm to the management team. The ideal candidate takes initiative and enjoys a creative and dynamic company culture. This position offers remote work opportunity with desired access to Richmond and the Northern Neck area and will report directly to the CEO.


  • Oversee the daily cash management duties for the firm including all accounts payable and receivables 
  • Work closely with the account management team and utilize the company’s software programs to facilitate timely invoices
  • Coordinate payroll details with JustWorks
  • Manage communications for the company’s 401K to employees and with the CPA firm
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end, quarter-end and year-end reports
  • Preparation and evaluation of updated financial forecasts including sales, net earnings and cash flow projections for short-term and long-term planning
  • Develop and monitor consolidated financial targets, budgets and metrics
  • Ensure the accounting policies, procedures and internal controls are performed effectively and recommend and implement ongoing improvements
  • Provide ongoing financial analysis support to the management team
  • Ownership of external relationships for banking, tax-related documents for the CPA firm and insurance
  • Monitor sales tax reporting obligations
  • Ensure sales contract compliance with revenue recognition
  • Confirm contract compliance with company business practices
  • Special projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel 
  • Proficiency in SaaS Optics and SalesForce highly desired, but not required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data and relevant impact for the company’s profitability and future growth
  • Passion for getting things done in a timely manner with high attention to detail
  • Self-starter and has the aptitude for driving continuous improvement
  • Excellent multi-tasking and decision-making skills in an ever-changing environment


  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on accounting and reporting experience
  • 2 years accounting/finance supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • CPA is highly desired, but not required
  • Experience with for-profit company required
