David Ayersman is Vice President for Information Technology Services for New River Community and Technical College. In this position, he oversees all aspects of Library Services, Communications, and Information Technology (including distance learning technologies) for all New River locations that support a nine-county region of southern West Virginia. He has taught numerous courses in Educational Technology (as a Visiting Assistant Professor for West Virginia University; as an Assistant Professor for SUNY Plattsburgh; and as a Distinguished Guest Lecturer for Mary Washington College, where he also served as Assistant Vice President of Instructional Technology for several years). From 2005–2007, Mr. Ayersman served as Chief Information Officer for a branch campus of Virginia Commonwealth University, located in Qatar. Since 2007, he has been a key member of the New River Community and Technical College leadership team. Major accomplishments in this role include the creation of all technology services as part of the separation of services from Bluefield State College in 2009. Additionally, he co-wrote and administered a $2 million, five-year Title III grant to develop a distance-learning infrastructure.
Mr. Ayersman holds a PhD in education and MA in educational psychology from West Virginia University and a BA in criminal justice from Marshall University.
