As Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at the University of Michigan, Ravi Pendse serves as an executive officer of the university and provides university-wide leadership and strategic direction for information technology. He has extensive experience in technology leadership, ERP projects, change management, network design and security, digital classroom design, and library systems.
Prior to University of Michigan, Mr. Pendse has been Vice President for Computing and Information Services and Chief Information Officer at Brown University and Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at Wichita State University. He has been a professor, researcher, and mentor and advisor to students and has won numerous awards for innovative and outstanding teaching.
Mr. Pendse is very passionate about the future of technology and its impact on higher education. He serves on Microsoft’s higher education advisory group and on the board of High Touch Technologies.
Mr. Pendse received a BS in electronics and communication engineering from Osmania University and a MS and PhD in electrical and computing engineering from Wichita State University.
