Adaptive Learning Solutions Brief

Why Read This Research

Adaptive learning solutions aim to create efficient, active learning environments that leverage prior knowledge and target knowledge gaps while providing students and faculty with feedback to support early and meaningful interventions. Solutions fall into two categories. Products of the first category support off-the-shelf course content produced by the company or their affiliated open education resource (OER) providers and tend to be easier to implement. The second category consists mainly of independent adaptive learning platforms that support original and imported course content and offer more authoring flexibility. As institutions explore adaptive learning solutions, this research provides adoption approaches, things to consider, representative solutions, and more.
