Tambellini Group Spotlight
Irvington, Virginia – January 7, 2019 – Nominations are now underway for The Tambellini Group CIO Award. This marks the fourth year a highly talented Chief Information Officer (CIO) or executive tech leader within the higher education community will be recognized.
CIOs play an exceedingly important role within higher education institutions. They work closely alongside cabinet leadership providing strategic guidance and presiding over technology transformations to advance the organization as a whole. One such individual, Dr. Sharon Blanton, VP Information Technology and CIO for The College of New Jersey, is our 2018 CIO Award winner. “It’s an incredible complement to be awarded by your peers, says Blanton. “It speaks volumes in terms of awareness of who you are, the kind of work you do, and that your contributions are award worthy.”
This honor has become highly competitive. Individuals eligible for the CIO Award are of tremendous caliber and are either a CIO or executive tech leader. They must be creative, innovative, and effective leaders, who have played a major role in planning and modern technology deployments within an institution.
Several past winners have made a positive impact beyond the bounds of their institutions. The CIO award perpetuates that recognition gaining broad national attention within higher education. Additionally, there are other benefits. “The CIO award opened up more conversations and made introductions to people that may not have otherwise taken place. It even reminded my home institution of my contributions. It really felt good,” reflected Blanton.
Submissions will be reviewed and final selection made by the Tambellini Executive Advisory Council—each holding high rank for many years within the higher education community. And, who best to judge than a peer within academia?
Nominations can be submitted now through February 5. The winner will be announced in early March.
