Tambellini Group Spotlight
Irvington, Virginia — January 8, 2020 — Nominations are now underway for The Tambellini Group CIO Award. This marks the fifth year a highly talented Chief Information Officer (CIO) or executive tech leader within the higher education community will be recognized.
CIOs play an exceedingly important role within higher education institutions. They work closely alongside cabinet leadership providing strategic guidance and presiding over technology transformations to advance the organization as a whole. One such individual, Samantha Earp, Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer of Smith College was the 2019 winner. Vicki Tambellini, President and CEO of The Tambellini Group, remarked, “Samantha is a stellar representative of higher education technology leaders, who have made significant contributions within their institutions and beyond. She is accomplished and respected by her colleagues. And, she has led highly visible transformational initiatives within the academic community which are truly admirable.”
Several past winners of the Tambellini Group CIO Award have made a positive impact beyond the bounds of their institutions. The CIO award perpetuates that recognition and gains broad national attention within higher education.
This honor has become highly competitive with nominations including CIO’s or executive tech leaders of tremendous caliber. Individuals eligible for the award are either a CIO or executive tech leader on their campus (including VPs and Directors for smaller institutions). They must be creative, innovative, and effective leaders, who have played a major role in planning and modernizing technology deployments within an institution. Individuals may be nominated by their team members, direct manager, or a colleague from another campus.
Submissions will be reviewed and final selection made by the Tambellini Executive Advisory Council—each holding high rank for many years within the higher education community. Nominations can be submitted now through February 7, 2020. The winner for the 2020 CIO Award will be announced in early March.
