MiraCosta College, a public, two-year community college in northern California had leveraged the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) shared technology infrastructure and services to handle its finance, HCM, and payroll processing. With a configuration optimized for K-12, the college soon realized this was no longer a sustainable option for their staff. Deciding to deploy its own internal system and centralize its finance, HCM, and payroll operations, MiraCosta selected Workday in 2018 for its product maturity, robust integrated reporting options, and mobile capabilities. Soon after, the college signed a contract with Accenture (then Sierra-Cedar) to provide Workday implementation services. Since going live, MiraCosta reports that they have been able to replace most of their paper-based processes with digital processes. Read this research to better understand MiraCosta’s selection process and their plans for future projects.
