The 2025 Oracle Higher Education Summit brought together leaders, innovators, and stakeholders from across the higher education sector. Held in the stunning Mark & Paula Hurd Welcome Center at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, the summit was a testament to Oracle’s commitment to driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and supporting the evolving needs of educational institutions.
One of the highlights of this year’s summit was the reintroduction of a dedicated track for PeopleSoft customers. This move was met with enthusiasm and appreciation from attendees, as it underscored Oracle’s unwavering commitment to the PeopleSoft platform. With institutions having at least 10 years left on the platform, Oracle’s commitment to deliver support and key development for PeopleSoft was a reassuring message for many.
While the summit did not feature an extensive demo of Oracle Student, attendees did get a look at new capabilities such as prerequisites and corequisites in the registration process. Although this might seem like a minor detail, this speaks to the focus Oracle is placing on ensuring strong feature availability with the solution’s upcoming general availability. Although the demo was limited, every glimpse at the current iteration of the solution reveals more high-value features presented through a modern and intuitive interface.
Oracle provided details on its Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy across the Fusion Cloud. There are currently over fifty available AI Agents for Fusion applications in addition to an Oracle AI Agent Studio. Oracle’s focus was on how these AI Agents can provide immediate augmentation for current manual or staff-led efforts. Institutions who are seeking AI-driven administrative efficiency would benefit from exploring the ways Oracle is delivering an augmented workforce within its suite of applications.
The summit also served as a platform for networking and collaboration. Current PeopleSoft and Fusion Cloud institutions, early adopters of Oracle Student, and prospective customers from across the United States came together to share their experiences, challenges, and successes. This diverse mix of attendees fostered a rich exchange of ideas and perspectives, creating opportunities for partnerships and collective growth.
In addition to the formal sessions, the summit featured interactive workshops and hands-on labs. These activities allowed participants to engage directly with Oracle’s technologies, explore their functionalities, and gain practical insights into their implementation. The workshops covered a range of topics, from data security and compliance to cloud migration strategies, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the tools and solutions available to them.
Visionary leaders from both Oracle and Baylor University presented keynotes and shared their perspectives on the future of education, the role of technology in shaping that future, and the importance of continuous innovation.
The 2025 Oracle Higher Education Summit provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, showcased Oracle’s commitment to supporting educational institutions, and highlighted the transformative power of technology in higher education. By focusing on the breadth of PeopleSoft, Fusion applications, Oracle Student, best practices, and AI, Oracle demonstrated their position as a leader in higher education with a sustained commitment to delivering a broad range of solutions while adapting to changing conditions across higher education.
