As higher education faces evolving 21st-century challenges, thinking strategically about the mid- and long-term impact of critical decisions and technology investments is paramount. Tom focuses on building trusting, close relationships with his clients to support and empower them to advance their institutions. Tom’s career in technology has been broad and diverse. He has spent 12 years in higher education, eight years in state and municipal government, and three years in the private sector. Before joining Tambellini, Tom served as the CIO for Southern Oregon University, where he led a digital transformation and modernization effort that addressed storage, telephone communications, identity and access management, a successful ERP replacement, and the launch of a SIS replacement effort. Tom’s expertise lies in strategic planning that dovetails both technology and business architectures to help organizations become more efficient and effective.

Michael joined Workday in 2013 seeding the Student project team and contributing to its initial architecture and design. Michael led the Product Management team as they designed the core student product and facilitated a three-year customer design partner program. Today, Michael leads the Product Strategy team responsible for determining market fit, competitive market intelligence, and overall product direction. Prior to joining Workday, Michael worked 16 years at Peoplesoft and Oracle in support of the Campus Solutions product in Product Management, Development, and Support. Michael has committed his professional career to the improvement of higher education management through the design and development of Student Information Systems.
